Banquets Coordinator

Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Director of Banquets
Status: Full-Time

Build Your Career in Events & Hospitality
DCC is looking for a Banquets & Events Coordinator to join our Food & Beverage team and help bring everything from weddings and private celebrations to golf tournaments, wine dinners, concerts, and club events to life.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in hospitality, events, or Food & Beverage management. You may be a recent college graduate ready to get your start, someone with restaurant or event experience looking to take the next step, or an experienced hospitality professional interested in joining a busy and creative private club environment.
While we highly value prior events experience, you don't need to arrive knowing everything, we'll help teach you the club and our systems. What matters most is that you're organized, dependable, comfortable working with people, and excited to learn.

POSITION SUMMARY
No two weeks in this role will look exactly the same. You'll work closely with our Director of Banquets and the rest of our Food & Beverage leadership team to help plan, organize, and execute a wide variety of events.
Events & Banquets
  • Help coordinate club events, weddings, private parties, golf events, dinners, and other special functions.
  • Work directly with clients and members on event details, including menus, timelines, room setups, and Food & Beverage selections.
  • Help create and update Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) so our culinary and service teams have everything they need to execute a great event.
  • Coordinate with our culinary team on menus, timing, and service details.
  • Help purchase décor, supplies, and those finishing touches that make events memorable.
  • Be part of event setups and help oversee events as they come to life.
  • Prepare event side work and lead pre-event staff meetings.
  • Help guide banquet servers and other team members during events.
  • Assist with scheduling and staffing needs for upcoming functions.
  • Track registrations, attendance, cancellations, and other event information.
  • Maintain event details in our event management system.
  • Help prepare post-event reports and recaps so we can continue making each event better than the last.
SECONDARY DUITES & GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
We want this position to be more than just event execution. You'll also get exposure to the operational side of Food & Beverage management, which long-term can help you grow beyond an “events-only” role.
Over time and once you’re comfortable with our systems, you'll work with our management team to help track and analyze things like:
  • Restaurant cover counts and dining activity.
  • Kitchen ticket times
  • Menu item performance
  • Turn-grille sales
  • Event attendance and performance
  • Other Food & Beverage trends and operational data
  • Potential for assisting with our summer pool operations including creating, planning, and executing pop-up pool events or occasionally serving as a day-shift supervisor of the pool team
If you're interested in eventually becoming an Event Manager, Banquet Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Club Manager, or hospitality leader, this is the kind of broad, hands-on experience that can help you build that foundation.

WHAT CHARACTER TRAITS FIT?
  • Are organized and naturally good at keeping track of details.
  • Enjoy working with people and being part of a team.
  • Like a workday that mixes time at a computer with being out where the action is.
  • Can juggle multiple projects without losing track of the small things.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently.
  • Aren't afraid to take initiative or ask questions.
  • Enjoy hospitality, restaurants, weddings, events, or creating great experiences for people.
  • Are comfortable learning new technology and software.
  • Want an opportunity where you can learn, take on responsibility, and grow.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hospitality or event experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in restaurants, catering, wedding venues, hotels, country clubs, event planning, or Food & Beverage operations is certainly valuable—but we're equally interested in candidates with the right personality, work ethic, organizational skills, and desire to learn.
  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply, particularly those with backgrounds or interests in hospitality, event management, business, communications, marketing, tourism, or related fields.
  • Already have a few years of experience? We'd like to hear from you, too. There is plenty of opportunity to bring your experience to the position and continue growing your responsibilities.
  • Experience with event management software or Jonas is a plus, but we'll provide training on our systems.
ADDITIONAL INFO
  • This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Because many weddings, private events, and club functions take place on weekends, availability on most Fridays and Saturdays is important.
  • The role combines office-based planning with hands-on event execution. You'll be on your feet during events and occasionally assist with setup, including some light lifting up to at least 25 pounds or slightly more.
  • Professional appearance and communication are also important in our private club environment.
  • Position comes with generous Personal Time Off (PTO) days, optional health, vision, & dental insurance, optional 401k, and daily staff shift meals.
Benefits:
  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
